Jackdaw

For the last 5 weeks, we have
been reading a chapter book and the last thing was we had to make a jackdaw of the book and a jackdaw is sort of a recap of the book. down below is my jackdaw I did on the book holes and I love the book because it is not the same as the movie holes and when reading the book you picture the book in your head 

Dixon House Visit

 Dixon House Visit 

On Tuesday at 12:55, we went on a bus to Dixon's house for a special visit and the class read books and I read to two people and it was such a cool experience for our class to do. It was really outstanding. I wish the school would visit there again another time and every class was given the chance to but none of them did so only our class when and we got a little bit of baking at the end. But too bad for the other classes because it was international read a book day organized by Tai Poutini Polytechnic  

How did it make me feel?

Well, when I got on the bus I was feeling anxious because I did not know if it would go well or not. When I got there it was a different feeling. I felt good and happy and I made some really strong connections with the people and one lady had a mumbly voice and it was alright because I could understand her really well. In the end, it was a great visit and I would love to do it again and so would some other kids in my class. They were scared at the start but then they got used to it and felt really happy talking to people that were complete strangers.

What did I enjoy the most about the visit?

Well, the whole visit was really amazing but the part I enjoyed the most was talking with old strangers and getting to know them pretty well. They had some amazing stories about themselves like they were never really sporty when they were much younger and I don't like sports much but so there was a connection to each other. Well to bad for the other classes that got the choice to go but they didn’t want to go there were so many lovely people there to talk to make connections with and no one else in the school wanted to go but my class and the Polytech made us some little treats so it was cool 

What I learned from the Dixon house visit?

Well what I learned from the whole visit was that that there were some really outstanding people there and that I learned that there is more older woman there then men there are only about 6 men and like 9 or 10 women that live there and some of the woman don’t like it there because they have to be looked after and cared for but lots of people have to be there for other reasons like they can not walk or talk or move or anything.  

       

Internet explorer

 Today we did the current events and after we had to pick a topic and I pick why is internet explorer is getting deleted and it is getting deleted and I have put the date down in my blog post so I won't tell you you have to read hopefully I have put good facts.

Prince Phillip

 Yesterday were did our current events quiz and had to pick an option and I choose to do Prince Phillip's death and here are some interesting facts in here thank you hope you like it. 

 

Digatal Dig

 

For a few weeks Miss Gibson has given us a task to do a digital dig on our Chromebook It was fun because we learned more about our Chromebooks I hope you learn something cool as well. 

My Energy Project

Today I had to make a video of my energy project, if you did not understand Whenua and Taiao are two of the senior classes. This is my last activity for the energy I am guessing I hope you have all enjoyed reading my Energy results. There is a video down below hope you enjoyed it.

Why Fitness Is Good For You

 

Today two senior classes went for a run and I struggle with my running but today I thought I could do it I try my best when we got in back in the classroom we had 25 minutes to make a D.L.O on 5 benefits why fitness was good for you I found some very interesting thing and think it has changed my life with some of the facts I found I want to be Outside and do loots of fitness bit by bit the best blog post gets 500 house points for there house and 2 little blue cards and the best blog caption gets 200 house points and I hope I get something.

Tokelua

 

We have started a new T-shape literacy project and it is about how Tokelau and how they make their energy and this is the first thing we had to do well the third but the first two were the only web about solar and wind.

Solar and Wind

 

Today we had to brainstorm about solar  and wind and what it does in our everyday life and how it impacts us and how it can affect use there is ups and downs with wind and sun. 

Chemicals

 

This is another energy word map and I like this one because you can do anything with chemicals but just not drinking them but you can do a lot of experiments with them like making elephant toothpaste but anyway, this is so fun to do and get lots of interesting facts out of it. 

Energy

 

The last few weeks we have been doing our T-shaped literacy on energy and this was one of our activities and it was really fun and cool to learn about solar and how it has a big impact on our lives and how it helps save a lot of power and money to spend elsewhere. 

Congo

 

 

This year my teacher has started teaching French and we had to pick a country they spoke french and there were lots to choose from all types of places and they all spoke French and I was surprised how much people actually spoke it and Congo actually speaks it as their official language.  

Snake found in New Zealand

 

Today we had to do the weekly quiz and I pick to do the snake that was found in South Auckland and I found some interesting facts and I worked with a buddy and we work together to get the work done and found some random things about the snake and I wish I never go to close to a snake in New Zealand. 

Kawa Of Care

 

Today my teacher read out the kawa of care and we had to choose a rule and I picked all of the basic ones to report about and to see what we think and because we have to take full responsibility for our Chromebooks.
