Camp recount

 last week on Tuesday we left school at 7.30am to go to Bridge Valley, a big 4-hour drive. In Miss Farr's van which was Tahlia, Grace, Miro G, Miro H, Jacob, Max, Gaby, Emma, Lisa, me, and of course Miss Farr. We all had a blast in the van with Grace and my singing. When we arrived I grabbed my Luggage and I ran for the top bunk. Then we had to go have our own lunch. After lunch, we started our first activity. 

Tuesday 

On Tuesday the day, we arrived at Bridge Valley we had some food and started the first activity which was the plane crash. We came up with some great teamwork. Then we had to do the Burma trail. It was fun because Bella kept falling down the bank. After we had lunch. All the groups play top teams. We all raced to win. Once we finished we all water time before dinner and dinner set up For dinner we had spaghetti and meatballs After dinner we had dessert we had stale donuts with cream and jam topping. after dessert we played spotlight I was found first then we played a second round and I was not found. After the spotlight, we had supper and went to bed. 

Wednesday 

We woke up at 7.30am had breakfast and we started our first activity. My group did a Lazer tag. Then had morning tea and had our second activity. Which were low ropes After low ropes we morning tea and my group had team initiatives next we did orienteering we had lunch that was burgers and chips. We then had water time before dinner setup. we ate did a ghost trail then chilled out, had supper, and then to bed. 

Thursday  

We woke up at 7.00am in the morning and I was very tired. We ate breakfast then had free time until our first activity. We set off for our activity. I was scared to do abseiling but I did it and thought it was awesome. After abseiling we had kayaking and mack fell out of his kayak and jump on to Bellas kayak and we had to get his kayak out of the pond. After kayaking, we had some lunch and then we did archery, then fire and damper it was disgusting. We all had some afternoon tea and some water time before dinner setup again. Once we all got out the water and had a shower we ate dinner, played a game called the ghost trail, went and had some supper and chilled in our cabins, and went to bed. 

Friday  

On Friday when we woke up we had breakfast then cleaned our cabins we had to clean the grass out of the showers it was disgusting after cleaning the cabins we played a game called get fresh it was hard to remember the rules but after a couple round it got easy but there were two teams and we had to try to get the other team in jail but you had to be fresh of your line to put them in jail. When we finished playing get fresh we hoped in our van and drove to Murchison for a break then when we arrived in Murchison we had some morning tea/ lunch and then drove all the way back to school.

Japan History

 Did you know that Japan is 40% bigger than New Zealand? It has 100 million people living there. Have you heard everyone gossiping about the cherry blossoms in Japan? The cherry blossoms are not the national flower, they are the second national flower. The national is a Chrysanthemum. Japan is a well-known tourist attraction with flowers and one of a kind shopping centers. Everywhere you go is a beautiful view.  


Culture and Tradition  

Early Japanese culture and tradition are influenced by China.  Edo Era Japan was isolated and closed there borders from the rest of the world. The national bird of Tokyo is a green pheasant why? because every country has a national animal, flower, and more. Japan has lots of unique views it will leave you stunned. 


Location/Geography  

Japan is a small island in the pacific ocean off mainland Asia. Tokyo was a small fishing village where they eat lots of fish and sushi. Edo Era during the 16 century Edo was a small castle town which is 1,600 years. Did you know that it's made up of 6,900 islands. Japan is the content of Asia. Japan is surrounded by the sea. 

Sports 

Japan's national sports are sumo wrestling, judo, and karate. Japan plays other counties' sports such as rugby, baseball, and soccer. The Olympics were supposed to be held in Tokyo in 2020 but they were canceled because of COVID19. The sport Japanese love mostly is baseball and the traditional sport is sumo. 

 

History 

They eat lots of imported fish, most sushi is fulled with browned rice and fish. Sometimes in Tokyo on their diet, they eat pork and beef. Did you know that Tokyo is the cleanest city ever it looks brand new? In 1923 an earthquake struck and took half the city down.  Japan was discovered 11 February 660 bc. 


Conclusion 

Well here we are all finished my information text and I hope you have learned a thing or two. 






In the last few weeks, we have been doing an information text about Japan the teacher picked the topic because of the Olympic that was canceled there because of coronavirus. Did you know this year the medals were going to be made out of recycled phones because they were just getting thrown away with silver, gold, and bronze?
